Reiki is an ancient system of energy healing with origins in Japan, India & Tibet. Reiki is a Japanese term meaning “universal force”. Everyone has access to it, and some of us are called to be direct channels of this healing etheric light. A reiki session is a subtle, yet potent, collaboration between channel/practitioner & receiver/client; one that offers an opportunity to shift focus from the minutiae of daily life, and relax into the vastness of one’s spirit.

The transcendental energy of reiki is invoked & shared via subtle laying of hands, & sometimes through distance transmission (though I solely do hands on). It’s ideal to wear comfortable clothing that allows for deep breathing, as guidance into gentle breath work is a key element for amplifying the force. This facilitates greater energy transmission and connection with one’s essential vibration. In tandem with breathwork, light laying of hands in reiki patterns is applied to both front and back. 

The reiki energy can feel hot, cold, strong, ethereal, dreamy. You may float away or experience heightened awareness. Hand placements can be under the head, on the knees, over the eyes, on the heart, etc. Typically the receiver begins to breathe more deeply when he or she starts to receive the energy transmission and conduct personal reiki.

Energetic blockages may be exhaled & dissolved, providing an easier capacity to run the frequencies of one’s own vital spirit source. While unblocking can take multiple sessions, ideally, you should feel peaceful and relaxed after your session. I believe that much of the power in spiritual healing comes from having an intention to heal, a willingness to receive, and an openness to unimagined perspectives.
